Welcome to Prodigal Road Ministries

Where stories of redemption and transformation come to life.

Our Heartbeat & Mission

Prodigal Road Ministries is not just a recovery program; it's a community where every individual is seen as a child of God—deserving love, connection, and the opportunity to renew their lives in Christ. Our ministry,—guided by Luke 15— focuses on creating an environment that fosters growth in Jesus, resilience, and lasting transformation.

We’ve seen Jesus's powerful transformation and want to see His love intersect your life, too.

One of our founders, Anthoney Farmer, was raised in a Christian household with a strong belief in the Lord. But he was a victim of sexual abuse from ages 6-8 years old by a man in his community, a fact that he had completely repressed until 2017. He battled his entire life trying to find his identity. For 16 years, Anthoney ran from God and chose a life of the world.

In 2008, he was diagnosed with HIV, a diagnosis that changed his life forever. Ultimately, Anthoney lost everything, including his job, nursing license, home, and money. He was homeless in Austin when a friend offered him a place to live in Kerrville.

Providing Christian discipleship / transitional living for men in Kerrville, TX area!

Our Commitment is Fueled by Compassion

We stand by every person who walks through our doors, offering a proven path from loneliness and rejection to a life of connection and renewal in Christ. Our approach integrates prayer, Bible study, and discipleship, emphasizing the importance of spiritual maturity and reliance on God.

God makes all things new and fuels our compassion to help others.

Anthoney experienced a massive deliverance from a life riddled with drugs, same-sex attraction, same-sex marriage, witchcraft, and the occult. In 2022, Anthoney had a deep and profound encounter with the Lord after attending a prayer meeting where he was baptized and rededicated his life to Christ. He experienced a mass deliverance from his drug addiction, his same-sex attraction, depression, and co-dependency.

Shortly after, he began attending a small group for his church at Wayne & Susan Johnson's home. Wayne & Susan began discipling Anthoney into a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. God was already planting seeds of compassion and hope for others.

After picking up Anthoney one day from his sober living home, Wayne Johnson asked Anthoney what it would take to open a Christian transitional living home for men coming out of addiction. After much study, discussion, and wrestling with the desire to see more men delivered in the way that Anthoney was delivered, Wayne, Susan, and Anthoney founded Prodigal Road Ministries.

How We Bring Transformation and Healing

Now, through our transitional living program (Prodigal Road Houses) and our discipleship and outreach ministry (Prodigal Journey), we strive to bring men into a right relationship with Jesus Christ so they can walk in their God-given identity.

Our commitment to discipleship and Christ-centered healing sets Prodigal Road Ministries apart. We provide a proven 3-part roadmap, transforming men from feeling lonely and rejected to being connected and renewed.

1

Realization

The journey to transformation begins with the profound realization of God's unfailing love and grace. In this pivotal step, individuals come to understand the depth of their brokenness and the need for a Savior. Through prayer, reflection, and biblical teachings, we guide men toward recognizing their need for Christ's redemption. Through this realization, they embark on a path toward healing and restoration.

2

Decision

In the Decision phase, men are encouraged to make a life-altering choice to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. We emphasize the importance of repentance and faith as they acknowledge Jesus as their Lord and Savior. With supportive and prayerful guidance, Biblical counseling, and a connection with a caring Christian community, men can see personal transformation and a renewed sense of purpose in God's kingdom.

3

Celebration

In the Celebration stage, we rejoice in the lasting transformation that Christ delivers. It is a time of moving from the hope of healing to actively living it out, celebrating the newfound freedom, family, and purpose found through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

At Prodigal Road Ministries, every story is a testament to the boundless mercy of a loving God, and every journey is a beacon of hope for those seeking redemption. Join us as we walk together on the road to restoration and renewal. Prodigals aren’t projects…they are long-awaited miracles!!!

Anthoney Farmer

Co-Founder of Prodigal Road Ministries

Anthoney Farmer's path was strewn with the wreckage of addiction, same-sex attraction, and despair. Yet, his story took a profound turn in the sacred embrace of faith. As his spirit soared, a vision took root—a vision of hope for those ensnared in the same shadows that once threatened to consume him. Together, Anthoney, Wayne, and Susan embarked on a mission to extend the hand of redemption to others, founding Prodigal Road Ministries as a testament to the transformative power of grace.
